Meet Camie…

Today, I had the chance to reconnect with Cami, a young mom whose story is truly inspiring. Her resilience and unwavering faith in the face of overwhelming challenges filled me with hope and moved me to tears. Despite her difficult circumstances, she has shown incredible strength and determination over the past four years.

Cami has worked tirelessly to improve her life and the lives of her children. She graduated in medical coding after going back to school herself, opened her heart and home to her younger cousin, and is now raising her as her own. She organized a back-to-school fundraiser in her neighborhood, providing over twenty backpacks filled with supplies for children in need. Recently, she’s been working overnight shifts at Amazon and Walmart just to keep her family afloat.

Even with her legal custody of her cousin, she faces the heartbreaking reality that she cannot access extra food assistance to help nourish her family. She relies on food pantries, but they don’t provide the protein needed for her kids’ growth and strength. Still, she remains grateful, knowing that she and her children are better off than many, and her faith continues to be her anchor.

Cami’s story is one of unwavering hope, perseverance, and faith. She dreams of sharing her journey someday to inspire other young moms that no matter how tough life gets, they are stronger than they think and never alone. Her resilience reminds us of the power of faith and the importance of community support.
